Students with valid visas can work part time to offset the cost of education in Australia. You need an average of a minimum score of IELTS 6-6.5 for and GMAT - 700. Post graduate students also need at least two years of work experience. Some universities have alternatives to IELTS where IELTS is not needed but a distinct program in English Language has to be taken to be eligible for admission into those Universities in Australia. Some of them are University of Adelaide, University of New South Wales, Australian National University, to name a few. IB program students get waivers for IELTS and University of Queensland does not require IELTS if you have at least 5 years of work experience in English speaking work environment.

Most of the bachelor degree programs at the university level are three or four years. The three years program gives an option to go to an honors program for the fourth year.

Education cost ranges from AUD $15,000 to AUD $121,000 per year depending on the program you are enrolling from. A

Student Visas are applied under subclass 500. Spouse and minor children of students are eligible for visas to accompany their partners. Training visas are issued to students under subclass 407.

  1. 10 + 2 years of completed/completing last year at the time of application
  2. IELTS / English Language Testing Score required by the university/college
  3. Financial Ability to Support Education and Living Expenses for the duration of your Stay
    a. Students should provide proof of funds in order to prove they have sufficient costs to study in the country. The minimum requirement is 20,290 AUD/year.

Post Study Work Visa

Post Study Work Visa allows international students to Stay, Work or Look for Jobs in Australia after they graduate. They acquire temporary stay and work status through three post study work visa options and the stay duration is from 18 months up to 6 years.

  1. Post Study Work Stream - Temporary Graduate subclass 485 - eligible for all graduate students regardless of their field of study. The work visa is for 2-4 years, and the age limit is 50 years.
  2. Temporary Graduate Visa - Graduate Work Stream (subclass 485) is for international students who have skills in need in the medium to long term in the Australian labor market. Work visa is for 18 months and the age limit is 50 years.
  3. Recognized Graduate Visa (subclass 476) is for international students who have engineering qualifications from specified institutions and the duration is for up to 18 months and the age limit is 31 years.
