Australia has multiple visitor visa categories through which candidates can apply depending on their duration of stay. All the stays are temporary for a fixed duration of stay or subject to terms and conditions. Some visas are extensible during the visitor stay in Australia and others are non extensible.

Tourist Application Inside Australia

  • Visiting Australia for purposes other than business or medical treatment

  • Other visa expiring, may be eligible for extension or this visa
  • Must be in Australia
  • Cost AUD 380

Sponsored Family Stream

  • Sponsored foreigners by family members Australian PR or Citizen
    a. May be asked to pay a Security Bond
  • Stay granted for up to 12 months
  • Candidate must be outside Australia
  • Cost AUD 150

Approved Destination Status Stream

  • Chinese citizens excluding SARs on tour through approved agent
  • Visa for the period or until date specified in grant letter
  • Must come and leave with the organized tour group

Frequent Traveler Stream

  • Citizens of China excluding SARs who often travel to Australia for business or personal reasons
  • Can be granted for 10 years; Stay up to 3 months each time you enter
  • Cost AUD 1,120
  • Biometrics provided before application

eVisitor Subclass 651

  • Visit as often within 12 month period
  • Max stay 3 months on each visit to Australia

eTA Subclass 601

eTA

  • Visit as often as you wish within 12 month period
  • Stay up to 3 months at a time
  • Cost. No VAC but Application Service Charge of AUD20 made
  • Specific Countries only eligible; India not one of them

Special Category Visa Subclass 444

Visit, Work, Study, Stay and Work in Australia for New Zealand Citizens only

  • From date granted until leave Australia
  • Cost - Free
  • Must apply for new SCV again if you want to enter again.
  • Processing done at the Airport

Transit Visa Subclass 771

Maritime Crew to enter by Air; some eligible to transit without visa

First Working Holiday Visa Subclass 417

18 to 30 years old (some countries 35 years old

  • Eligible for 2nd working Holiday if meet certain eligibility criteria

  • Must have passport from eligible country
  • Must have completed 3 months of specified subclass 417 work
  • Must hold valid visa or last visa expired less than 28 days ago
  • Can apply for Third Working Holiday, if you meet eligibility criteria

  • People supporting someone needing medical treatment
  • People who are donating an organ for someone in Australia

  • Cost - Free if applying from outside Australia or a Foreign government official
  • Cost AUD 330 for application within Australia
