Almost 1 million students came to the U.S. in the 2021-2022 academic year from more than 200 countries. Of these nearly 20% of the students, around 199,182 students were from India that enrolled in 2022.

There are nearly 6,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. Of those schools, 3,982 are degree-granting postsecondary institutions.Private nonprofit institutions make up the largest percentage of four-year schools.

The United States education system provides various options for candidates seeking admission into colleges and universities. Community colleges are the most economical option to get a 2 to 4 year diploma from the United States followed by State Funded public universities like Penn State University and the most expensive are private universities like Harvard, Yale, Princeton University etc. Regardless of their stature, education in the United States is quite expensive and careful consideration should be done in investing in US Education by choosing the right university for your right program.

Undergraduate programs are 4 year and Master’s programs are 2 years. PhD programs can be done after completing Undergraduate program in United States directly; bypassing the Master’s program subject to approval from University.

TOEFL is required as a test for English language along with SAT that is required for undergraduate admissions. For graduate admissions either, GRE or GMAT is required. Some colleges or universities may waive off the requirement.

Students are allowed to work for 20 hours per week and are allowed to work 40 hour week during holidays. On completion of 4 year program students gt optional training program for 2 years during which period they can extend they stay by applying for work visa that ultimately may lead to green card process.
